New New Era Offerman-Robinson Ad Shows Signs The Joke Only Goes So Far

New Era ballcaps released the latest in its series of rivalry videos on Tuesday featuring Parks and Recreation's Nick Offerman and Craig Robinson of The Office.

Titled "Final Showdown," the premise of the spot places Cubs fan Offerman and White Sox supporter Robinson in a staredown during a Cubs-Sox game while Cubs TV play-by-play man Len Kasper's commentary describes both the game and the staredown.

Maybe "Final Showdown" is a fitting title as this ad is the least funny of the New Era spots and the joke has run its course. There is nice attention to detail in the final scene in the restroom, with Offerman's and Robinson's gazes locked on each other, separated by a single urinal. Real men don't pee next to each other.
