The Hood Internet Drops Two Very Local Remixes

The Hood Internet just sent us remixes of two local bands and, as usual, the results are well worth hearing. The first is of dreamy shoegazers Sleep Out, who celebrate the release their first album in about four years at The Burlington tonight. On the album the track "Either Ore" floats above the ground and submerges the listener in a bottomless haze of noice. The remix below throws chains anchored to a sludgy beat and cuts through the haze to create a weird push and pull between the source material that creates mild disorientation in the listener.

The Hood Internet then takes "Cat Fight USA" off the last album from LASERS and FAST and SHIT, long a favorite of ours, and mixes it up ahead of LASERS and FAST and SHIT playing Wicker Park Fest this Sunday. The original version of this tune is a big ol' messy slap of rock, but The Hood Internet cuts out a lot of the rock bottom end and turns the song into a weird meditative dancefloor number. That is is the particular discotheque you're inhabiting is in some deep recess of the earth that only receives daylight once or twice a decade. It's a spooky listen.

You can stream or download both tracks below.
