Jon Stewart Mocks Chicago's Chicken Sandwich Controversy

By Samantha Abernethy in Arts & Entertainment on Jul 31, 2012 9:40PM

As if Chicago's chicken sandwich controversy weren't already hilarious enough, now Jon Stewart has us cracking up again. As usual the host of The Daily Show feeds us equal parts humor and logic to get us thinking differently. In response to Mayor Rahm Emanuel's statement that "Chick-fil-A's values are not Chicago's values," Stewart says, "We are Chicago. A city built on gambling, corruption, murder and ballot stuffing. Not intolerance!"

As for Ald. Proco Joe Moreno's (1st) plan to block Chick-fil-A's Logan Square shop, Stewart says, "By the way, for all those cities out there who believe you can pass a zoning ordinance against homophobic sandwiches... (shakes head)."

Our favorite part, though, is Stewart's impersonation of Mike Huckabee's declaration of a Chick-fil-A appreciation day.
