On Friday, Experimental Sound Studio will host a benefit show for local drummer Frank Rosaly, a prolific local musician whose car, containing much of his equipment, was stolen last week. Rosaly will perform with Ken Vandermark, Matthew Hale Clark, and Jeff Kimmel, amongst other pillars of Chicago's experimental community. ESS recommends a $10 donation for the 8:30 p.m. show. More deets, via ESS:

Last week, acclaimed Chicago drummer and ESS friend Frank Rosaly ran into an extremely unfortunate circumstance; his car, containing many cymbals and other hardware, was stolen. We can't imagine what a busy drummer such as Frank will do without a car to haul his gear to the hundreds of shows he plays each year, so we're hosting a last-minute concert/party to help him raise funds so that he might begin to recoup his losses.

Join us on Friday night and enjoy performances by Frank with some of his closest collaborators. We'll have a healthy supply of beer and wine on site, 100% of the proceeds of which will go directly to Frank. Also, for donors to the cause present on the night of the event, we'll have an exclusive and extremely limited CDR of a performance he gave at ESS in 2010—hand-packaged by Frank himself!

If you can't make the show, please consider a PayPal donation here. For footage of Rosaly in action, check out this Coach House Sounds video from 2010.
