Humpday just got happier. D.O.C. Wine Bar is once again pairing up with Molly’s Cupcakes, the sweetest neighbor a wine bar could ask for. For $20, you can skip the appetizer, salad, and entrĂ©e and cut straight to the chase, as it were—the spirits and the sugar rush—indulging exclusively in the culinary curlicues that make eating out about so much more than quelling the appetite.

Starting at 6 p.m., you’re free to sample four mini cupcakes with four complementary wines. The cupcake lineup includes a pear, almond, and brown sugar cake; basil cake with tomato inside; flourless chocolate cake with dulce de leche frosting; and an unrevealed cake topped with watermelon frosting.

If the digestive juices require something heartier for ballast, stay and sample some of D.O.C.’s own savory fare, in which case we recommend the signature sliders, if only to keep the round mini food theme going—and because the ahi tuna with wakami and mango salsa is bracingly fresh. Or grab some empanadas at Lito’s two doors down if you can't snag a coveted table at adjacent Sushi Toro. Whatever your post cupcake and wine flight choice, you’re sure to enjoy a surfeit of wine and frosting lip licking for a good while to come.

D.O.C. Wine Bar is located at 2602 N. Clark St.
