Illini To Play Washington At Soldier Field

Several sources are reporting that Illinois will play at Soldier Field Sept. 14, 2013 against non-conference opponent Washington. The Illini have been looking for ways to play in Chicago during the years when they don't visit Northwestern. And Soldier Field is certainly a much better football venue than Wrigley Field.

This will add to a growing list of college events at Soldier Field. Those include the Iowa vs. Northern Illinois football game Sept. 1, 2012 and two hockey games featuring Notre Dame vs. Miami and Minnesota vs. Wisconsin Feb. 17, 2013.

Having last played there in 1994, this will be Illinois' first visit to the renovated Soldier Field.
