Humpday Afternoon Diversion: Soon

By Kevin Robinson in Arts & Entertainment on Aug 8, 2012 8:00PM

Oh sure, it's been hot and humid and sunny outside. You're riding your bike to work and around to the bars where you meet up with friends and drink outside. Sunset is well after 8 p.m. You might even get some people together for grilling on a porch this weekend.

But soon, and sooner than you think, you'll be pulling boots on over thick socks and tucking your unwashed hair under a knit cap. You'll be cursing dibs while you tread your way through black piles of filthy snow. You'll think back to Summer 2012, how hot is was, how bright and sunny and long the days were and you'll try to remember what heat felt like on your skin, wearing little more than a t-shirt and jeans; What it felt like to walk barefoot through grass; Lake Michigan on a Sunday afternoon; Hot sand, cold beer.

Soon....
