1 Killed, 2 Injured In River West Taxi Crash

A man was killed and two others were injured when a taxi driver lost control of his cab in River West early this morning.

The taxi was heading down Milwaukee Avenue around 6:15 a.m. when the driver lost control of the vehicle and struck a bench where the man who was killed was sitting, and then hit a light pole, which caused the cab to flip over several times. The driver and a passenger were pulled from the cab by people on the scene. Witnesses said the driver was well above the speed limit at the time of the crash.

The two injured people were taken to Stroger and Northwestern Memorial Hospitals, respectively.
