By Chuck Sudo in Arts & Entertainment on Aug 14, 2012 4:20PM

2012_8_14_PTI.jpg PechaKucha Night started in Tokyo in 2003 with a simple premise for designers to network and show off their work in public. The format has remain unchanged: a simple presentation format where you show 20 images, each for 20 seconds. The images advance automatically and you talk along to the images.

PechaKucha Night Chicago events are normally held at Martyrs' but this Thursday, Aug. 16, from 6-8:30 p.m. PechaKucha Night Chicago is moving to the Art Institute's Modern Wing in what's being billed as the largest PechaKucha Night in North America... if they can fill the Art Institute.

Here's who's expected to speak Thursday: Doug Fogelson, Steven Haulenbeck, Karen Kice / Claire Cahan, Troy Klyber, Jon Langford, Jason Lazarus, Liz Neely, Sally Timms, Peter Exley, Thorsten Bösch. Beer and other libations will be available and guests can heckle from the Renzo designed balconies. This event is free with Art Institute admission.
