Sound Opinions Wants To BBQ Your Ears

By Tankboy in Arts & Entertainment on Aug 15, 2012 6:20PM

2012_08_sound_opinions_logo.jpg What finer way is there to spend a late summer evening than BBQ on a terrace whilst viewing fireworks over the late and arguing over whether or not Lou Reed's Metal Machine Music was genius or crap? There isn't any finer way. So that's why we're looking to the WBEZ Sound Opinions BBQ at Navy Pier next Wednesday, August 22. Jim DeRogatis and Greg Kot will be on hand to disagree with each other on the relative merits of Bruce Springsteen's catalog and listen to fan opinions of bands both large and small.

Jim and Greg and their fans will also be on hand to eat food catered in by The Butcher and Larder, Hoosier Mama Pie Company, Honey Butter Fried Chicken, and Black Dog Gelato and drinks from Virtue Cider and Maker's Mark. That's right kids, bourbon, BBQ and rock and/or roll! (And if you're not into that sort of thing you can enjoy the rock and/or roll alongside some vegetarian and non-alcoholic options. But the rock and/or roll is required, no matter what.)

If this sounds like your kind of jam then pick up your tickets and start boning up on your music-based talking points.
