On Tuesday it was reported that the cost to repair Grant Park post-Lollapalooza is at $150,000 and counting and that the costs of the repairs will cover bringing Butler and Hutchinson Fields back to their normal green glory.

Looking at the photo above of Hutchinson Field on the final day of Lollapalooza, that $150,000 cost is sure to escalate. Chicagoist's Rob Winn, who plays in one of the Grant Park softball leagues, said that both upper and lower Hutchinson Field will be closed to the public for the remainder of the summer. As you can also see from the photo, Hutchinson Field needs a hell of a lot of work.

How much, we don't know. I've placed calls to Chicago Park District spokeswoman Jessica Maxey-Faulkner and Bob O'Neill, president of the Grant Park Conservancy, for comment. If one or both reply, we'll be sure to update.
