Yesterday Adidas premiered the first in a series of videos featuring Bulls guard Derrick Rose as he rehabs the knee injury he suffered in last season's playoffs against Philadelphia. Last night Comcast SportsNet's Aggrey Sam had an exclusive interview with Rose where, for the first time, Rose talks about the immediate moments after the injury occurred.
Rose noted that his rehab is ahead of schedule but that he isn't rushing to return. The plan, according to sources cited by Comcast SportsNet, is for Rose to rehab his knee until the All-Star Break.
"[I’m just] taking my time. I'm definitely two or three weeks ahead of where I'm supposed to be, but that still [doesn't] help the part healing-wise. I've still got to take that time off for my leg to heal. Of course, strength-wise it's getting better every day, but scar tissue still has to heal, getting used to me just laying on my knees. Knee's still numb in some areas. Hopefully I'll get over that, but the doctor says I'll forget about it when the season goes on, so I should be all right."
