2012_8_8_Sable4.jpg When I floated the idea for a National Rum Day feature, Anthony Todd said, "You have to talk to Rob Christopher."

As our resident rum maniac (his words), Rob Christopher immediately offered up this cocktail recipe, which uses three types of rum, and will right any Wednesday.

Shanghai Rain Barrel

Ingredients:
2 oz. orange juice
1 oz. white grapefruit juice (unsweetened)
.5 oz. Mathilde Orange XO
.25 oz. Velvet Falernum
.75 oz. Old Port rum
.75 oz. Smith & Cross rum
1 oz. Mt. Gay Eclipse rum
4 drops Herbsaint
Dash of Angostura bitters

Directions:

1. Shake all ingredients with ice, strain over fresh crushed ice into a tiki mug.
2. Put a straw in it. Double the recipe for a shared drink.
