Scott Lucas has been added to the line-up of tomorrow's live taping of the You, Me, Them, Everybody podcast at Hungry Brain alongside other guest, WBEZ's Alison Cuddy. While Lucas has been pretty active in the music scene throughout the summer with his Married Men, this will be many people's first chance to hear some music off the forthcoming Local H album Hallelujah! I'm A Bum, albeit in an acoustic setting.

We've only had Hallelujah! I'm A Bum for a couple of days now, so we can't really form a fair and well thought out critical assessment of the album. But even after only a handful of listen we can attest to the fact that a) it rocks rather mightily and b) it sounds like Lucas is at the top of his game when it comes to challenging himself, resulting is a really strong song suite. And did we mention it's a concept album delving into the political climate of today (from what we can tell) using Chicago as a metaphor? If that sounds pretentious it certainly doesn't come off that way, and thus far both our brains, the thinking one that enjoys discourse and the lizard one that just wansta rawk, are mightily pleased.

While most of the world needs to wait until Sept. 18 to hear this stuff, Chicago's lucky enough to get a little advance preview at this taping, so you should probably make sure you get there early to ensure you get a seat!

You, Me, Them, Everybody is Friday, Aug. 17 at The Hungry Brain, 2319 W Belmont, 7 p.m., FREE, 21+
