Ozzie, Marlins May Head To The Cell Next Season

The last time Ozzie Guillen was in Chicago he was bitching about how local sports media had turned on him since he left to manage the Miami Marlins. By the time the Cubs finished with the Marlins, Guillen was saying “fuck Chicago.”
Looks like Guillen will get an extra chance to play the martyr to local media next season. In addition to Miami’s visits to Wrigley Field, a source who has seen next season’s MLB schedule told CBS Chicago’s Adam Hoge that the Marlins are scheduled to visit 35th and Shields for an interleague series with the White Sox.
Awk-warrrrd.
Under the new guidelines for interleague play, each division will play all five teams in another division. So in addition to facing the Marlins, is Hoge’s source is correct, the Sox will also face the Mets, Phillies, Braves and Nationals. If Hoge’s source is correct, the Marlins’ visit to Sox Park means Sun-Times Guillen Family correspondent Joe Cowley can start writing his ledes now and resurrect the Guillen-Kenny Williams feud that he helped to stoke. Cowley and other sportswriters can also write about the failures of Guillen’s Marlins compared to the success of the White Sox under Robin Ventura, even though Guillen’s fingerprints are also on this year’s team.
MLB won’t announce next season’s schedule until September. Personally, I’d be more interested to see the Nationals, with Bryce Harper and Stephen Strasbourg, visit The Cell than the traveling Guillen road show.
