As if Wicker Park already didn’t have enough music festivals, Big Star is teaming up with Metro for a free music festival called The Dust Up in the popular joint’s parking lot on Sept. 8.

We’re impressed with the music lineup. Disappears, Andre Williams & The Goldstars, Louisville, KY's Old Baby, Quarter Mile Thunder (the new project by ex-Bloodiest bassist Ben Clarke, and local bluesmen The Jeff Walroth Band are scheduled to perform. DJs will spin until the live acts take the stage at 4 p.m. and there will be a record fair in place with Bloodshot, The Numero Group, Kranky Records and Dusty Groove all setting up shop.

It’s a good fit on paper: Big Star has long positioned itself as a roadhouse and the music they play has been as calculated as the food and whiskey served there. Will it be enough for people frustrated trying to get a table at Big Star to show up? It won’t matter.
