Chef Won Kim moved his "Brew Ha Ha" home brew series of events to the Co-Prosperity Sphere in Bridgeport last weekend for "Iron Brew Ha Ha," an event where homebrewing collectives engaged in a competition for a grand prize of brewing their winning entry at Stone Brewing's San Diego facility.
The winning entry was "The Day Man," a coffee IPA from Heavy Hand Bartending and Brewing. It was a worthy entry among many and Stone's Greg Koch promised that when the beer is brewed next year plenty of it will be available for Chicago palates.
In second place was another worthy selection, a saison from Gnome Grotto, Saison DuGrotte. Gnome Grotto will be brewing a larger version of this beer at Two Brothers Roundhouse brewery and it will be available at both Two Brothers brewpubs next year.
