Prince will be calling the United Center home for a spell starting Sept. 24. His "Welcome 2 Chicago" residency is the latest in his "Welcome 2 America" series of concerts; he previously set up residencies in New York City and Los Angeles.

Prince promised in each of those cities that each concert will be different, heavy on the hits and performed in the round on a stage designed like his iconic love logo.

The residency is being used to support Rebuild the Dream, an organization seeking to help fix the U.S. economy and protect the middle class and poor through outreach, education, rallies and lobbying.

These are His Royal Badness's first Chicago concerts in eight years and there should be no lack of demand for concerts. Tickets for the Sept. 24 show go on sale Thursday, Sept. 6.

There are presales cor CITI cardmembers Sept. 4 at 10 a.m. and a Facebook-text-venue-LiveNation presale beginning 10 a.m. Sept. 5
