Chicago Police seized a shipment of synthetic marijuana bound for the city wrapped in foil packets containing the image of Scooby-Doo. We shouldn’t be surprised by that news: Scooby-Doo (and Shaggy) was always subtly portrayed as a stoner.
According to the Sun-Times, CPD’s Package Interdiction Team, which works with commercial package carriers and other law enforcement agencies, responded to a suspicious package call and found “thousands” of foil packets containing synthetic pot with Scooby’s face on the packaging, which was labeled “Scooby Snax 4G.” Police value the pot at $265,000.
James O’Grady, Commander of CPD’s Narcotics Division, said in a statement.
"This was great work by our Package Interdiction Team and great coordination of efforts between agencies. Synthetic Marijuana poses a significant public health risk and it is important to keep this product from hitting our streets."
Police are continuing their investigation and aren’t saying where the synthetic pot came from or where it was headed. Here’s hoping the Scooby Gang is on the case.
