2012_09_citywinery1.JPG There are lots of great wine events happening in Chicagoland. Here are our top picks for this weekend:

Wednesday, Sept. 5: City Winery is now open - the music is playing and the wine is flowing. Tonight the feature act is the Yardbirds (sans Eric Clapton, of course. It’s just the founding dudes and some new dudes now.) Tickets are $30 and you can buy them here. Doors open at 6 p.m., music starts at 8 p.m. and the wine drinking starts… now?

City Winery is located at 1200 W. Randolph St.

Friday - Saturday, Sept. 7-8: It’s the Windy City Wine Festival! Stroll up to Buckingham Fountain between 4-10 p.m. on Friday or 3-9 p.m. on Saturday. Tickets are $35, but you can pick them up for $28 in advance. The ticket includes a souvenir wine glass, ten tastings, and cooking demonstrations. The list of wines is extensive.

Buckingham Fountain is located… well you know.

Saturday, Sept. 8: All you have to say is “never-ending glass of wine,” and suddenly we are paying attention. The Norwood Park Historical Society is throwing the 2012 Wine Fest, which will include more than 60 wines for the tasting and a silent auction benefitting the historical society. Tickets are $56 for the three-hour taste fest, and you can buy tickets online.

2012 Wine Fest will be held at 5624 N. Newark Ave.
