Mayor's Office Vows Emanuel Doesn't Like Nickelback

One teacher's picket sign made some harsh accusations claiming "Rahm Emanuel Likes Nickelback," and of course the photo went viral. Well, Emanuel's office took the time to deny the claim and told RedEye that no, the mayor does not like Nickelback.
Friend of Chicagoist Micah Uetricht tracked down the man with the sign: Michael Konkoleski, a 10th grade math teacher at Eric Solorio Academy High School in West Gage Park. Konkoleski has been changing up the sign, claiming Emanuel likes Creed and/or Avril Lavigne.
Emanuel is worthy of many insults, but his musical taste might not be one of them. His mayoral campaign did get a shot in the arm from Wilco's Jeff Tweedy. Emanuel also appeared at Lollapalooza to introduce The Black Keys, and he is something of an Adele fanatic, crediting "Rolling in the Deep" with helping him finish a triathlon last year.
