- The whereabouts (if not the employment status) of Chicago Public Schools CEO Jean-Claude Brizard have become a story as the teachers strike drags on. While we’re still taking bets on how soon Brizard will be fired after the strike is settled, he did come out of whatever Whack-a-mole hole where he’s been hiding since Sunday night.
E-mail sent from Jean-Claude Brizard to #CPS employees (RT if someone told you this rumor today): twitter.com/ChiPubSchools/

That should quell the masses until we see Brizard next week.
- Chicago’s most notable recent CPS graduate also weighed in on the strike. Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose expressed hope that CPS and CTU reach an agreement in short order in a series of updates to his Twitter feed.
Hope the CPS gets a deal done soon...we need our kids in school! #TheReturn

I'm sitting here just thinking how sad it is that my city got to go through this. I love my city and everyone in it even my haters!

I don't like that fact that OUR kids are not in school and that's the only thing we have to SAVE these kids.

I pray everyday for US for real. I know I shouldn't be saying this because I hoop and it's not my lane but I feel like ppl should hear this.

One person who didn't want to hear it was WSCR-AM morning co-host Mike Mulligan. After reading the tweets on air, Mulligan took the "How dare you offer an opinion about something besides basketball?" approach and asked who the haters were. (Kudos to Mulligan, by the way, for not hitting below the belt and reminding listeners about Rose's doctored college transcripts.)
- Rahm Works All Day is shaping up to be the best fake Rahm Emanuel Twitter account since @MayorEmanuel. Whoever is behind the account has some of the most withering criticism of Emanuel's handling of the strike, with 90 percent less use of the word "fuck."
If I wanted the opinion of a sexagenarian former Jerry Springer co-worker, I would have asked. suntimes.com/news/marin/150

Teachers may not have any job security but here in Chicago they don't have to worry about accidentally eating a homophobic chicken.

If I'm indifferent to the black middle class, how come I recently had dinner at Next with John W. Rogers?

Media says thousands of teachers in the Loop yesterday. Left for massage at 3 but when I stopped counting I was only up to 84. #LiberalBias
— Rahm Works All Day (@RahmWorksAllDay) Sinker? Is this you?
