Gun Violence Leaves 2 Dead, 7 Wounded In Just 8 Hours

Over an eight-hour period, two people were killed and seven wounded by gun violence. Three 14-year-old boys were among those wounded.

- In East Chatham, a 19-year-old man was shot and wounded around 4:30 p.m.

- In Washington Park, one man was shot and killed, Ornette Massey, 38, and another man, 40, was wounded around 6 p.m. Wednesday evening.

- In Marquette Park, two teenage boys, both 14, were shot and wounded around 7 p.m. Wednesday in a possible driveby shooting. Both are in stable condition.

- In the Back of the Yards, a 33-year-old man was shot and wounded around 7:05 p.m.

- In the South Shore neighborhood, a 21-year-old man was shot and wounded at around 7:20 p.m.

- In Marquette Park, a 14-year-old boy was shot and wounded in the hand around 8:25 p.m.

- In Humboldt Park, one person was killed and another wounded around 1:15 a.m. A passing car fired shots into another car, killing one passenger, Miguel Cruz, 28, and wounding another.
