The White Sox have now lost four straight and are only a half game ahead of the Detroit Tigers for first place in the AL Central. Jose Quintana started for the Sox and gave up four runs (only one earned), five walks and six hits in five innings of work. The White Sox have only managed to score 10 runs in their last five games. Paul Konerko homered and Dewayne Wise drove in Alex Rios for the White Sox only two runs of the game.

(11) Notre Dame 13, (18) Michigan 6

The Fighting Irish tamed the Wolverines on Saturday and are off to their best start in 10 years. Michigan QB Denard Robinson kept throwing passes at Notre Dame's defense. Robinson was intercepted five times and the Irish forced six turnovers in total. Tommy Rees, Notre Dame's backup quarterback, had the only touchdown of the game on a two-yard rush after two critical third down conversions.

Northern Illinois 30, Kansas 23

The Huskies improved to 3-1 on the season and extended their home game winning streak to 17 games with a win over Kansas Saturday. Northern trailed 23-13 in the fourth quarter but put together a 17-point rally to hand the Jayhawks their 16th consecutive road loss. The turning point was a 65-yard catch and run by Lynch to Martel Moore, who cut the lead 20-23, giving the Huskies the breathing room to come back and win. Huskies quarterback Jordan Lynch had 235 yards through the air and 134 yards rushing, his third 100 rushing yard game on the season. The Huskies gained 455 yards in total offense.

Louisiana Tech 52, Illinois 24

Illini quarterback Nathan Scheelhaase did not impress in his first game back from injury. Scheelhaase threw an interception and lost a fumble to put the Illini in a 21-7 first quarter hole. The Illini turned the ball over a total of six times and couldn't seem to get much going on offense. Backup quarterback Reilly O'Toole tried to help Illinois climb out of the hole, but the Bulldogs shut the Illini down in impressive fashion.

Northwestern 38, South Dakota 7

Although they aren't ranked in the polls, the Wildcats improved to 4-0 on the season after squashing South Dakota in impressive fashion. 277 of the Wildcats' 408 total yards of offense came on the ground. Venric Mark ran for 117 yards and three touchdowns. The Wildcats did not turn the ball over the entire game.
