Chicago Man Uses Turbulence To Make "In Descent Proposal"

By Samantha Abernethy in Arts & Entertainment on Sep 28, 2012 6:40PM

A Chicago man took his girlfriend in a plane and pretended it was crashing when instead he was proposing. And she said yes to that? We would've been pissed at kind of that prank.

The two were riding along, when Ryan Thompson told her the flight controls aren't responding. He handed Carlie Kennedy the emergency procedure and asked her to read the instructions. At the end of the sheet it read, "the rings may be unengaged and to initiate the ring engagement procedure.

The Today Show writes:

At that moment, Thompson popped the question to Kennedy’s relief and excitement. While it would have been easy to be a little angry for having been put through that situation, Kennedy was more caught up in the euphoria.

“Everyone has asked me that question and to be honest, I was never mad,’’ she said. “I think it’s just because I was so excited about what was happening. After the plane, my family was there and then all our friends. I never had time to sit and think about being mad, but I wasn’t. I was too excited.’’
