A man showed up to court in Kane County to face drug charges, and he brought along three grams of cocaine, landing himself with new felony possession charges.

Alex Robinson, 37, was charged with delivery of cocaine in 2006, and he was appearing in court on Wednesday for an alleged probation violation.

Not only did he bring the drugs to court, but he also plopped the cocaine into the tray at the security checkpoint while he went through the metal detector.

The Sun-Times writes:

Security guards asked him to step back and make sure there was nothing in his pockets that might be setting off the detector. Robinson emptied his pockets and dropped the cocaine into the tray to be scanned. He tried to leave, but was arrested, [Kane County Sheriff’s Lt. Pat] Gengler said.

“I don’t know how you forget,” Gengler told the Sun-Times. “It’s not like you don’t know there’s a checkpoint coming up.”

Good luck fighting this charge, Mr. Robinson.
