Two heads are better than one, especially when they are both wearing toques. Maybe this is why "collaborations" have become one of the most exciting trends at the moment - they bring together more talent and flavors in one bite than ever before. We've had collaboration dinners, collaboration falafels, collaboration beers and now, Katherine Anne Confections is bringing us collaboration truffles.

Katherine Anne Confections opened it's first store last month, and they've hit the ground running. Each month, KAC will team up with a different chef - the proceeds from the truffle go to a charity of the chef's choice. The first in the series is a collaboration with City Provisions Chef/Owner Cleetus Friedman. It's called the "Bad Ass Bourbon Bacon Truffle" and it's filled with so much local business we're surprised it's not bursting. The Bourbon is from FEW Distillery, the bacon is made at City Provisions and the chocolate ganache is created by Katherine Duncan. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Scleroderma Foundation.

Go buy truffles! In future months, chef-partners will include Heather Terhune of Sable and Gary Wiviott of Barn & Co. We can't wait to see what a BBQ master comes up with for a truffle!

Katherine Anne Confections is located at 2745 W. Armitage.
