Do This: Paddy Long's Malort And Cheap Beer Festival

2012_9-26_malort_small.jpg Speaking from personal experience, the best way to get the lingering aftertaste of Jeppson's Malort out of one's mouth is to chase it with a cheap lager. There's no need to waste a nice pint of Zombie Dust after a shot of Malort. The cheaper the beer, the better: Pabst Blue Ribbon is a good start; Old Style is better; a 30 cube of Milwaukee's Best is the perfect tonic. (Though you may wind up passing out and not having to worry about the bitterness in the back of your throat.)

The folks at the Carl Jeppson Co. recognize this which is why they're hosting a Malort and cheap beer festival 9 p.m. Oct. 20 at Paddy Long's. This is essentially a collaboration between the staff at Paddy Long's and Jeppson's Malort.

They'll be featuring $3 shots of Malort, $2 cheap beers and $4.50 Spaten Oktoberfests, for those who refuse to follow our advice. The entire Malort team—all three of them—will be on hand to meet and greet guests.

Paddy Long's is located at 1028 W. Diversey.
