North Shore Distillery Announces 2012 Limited Edition Spirit

By Anthony Todd in Food on Oct 17, 2012 2:30PM

2011_11_22NorthShore.jpg Every year, North Shore Distillery releases a limited run of some fabulous, unique spirit. Last year, it was Eldergin (we still have bottles stashed in the closet) and in previous years they have produced a mole poblano spirit, a bottled corpse reviver cocktail and lots of other goodies. This year, it's something new: "Silver Lining," a take on a German kräuter liqueur.

You may not know it, but you've probably had a krauter liqueur before. Jägermeister, the signature drink of nights that frat boys can't remember, is in this category. But since all that "Kräuterlikör" means is herbal liquor, it's a pretty broad category. This release promises to be entirely different.

In addition to a whole host of secret botanical ingredients, the spirit includes cacao and Metropolis coffee. It's meant for sipping or mixing, and North Shore promises that cocktail recipes will be forthcoming. The first bottles will hit stores on Oct. 24. Plus, you'll be able to try it at the North Shore Distillery tasting room starting Oct. 26.

Remember, if you're interested, stock up now. There are only 800 bottles and once they are gone, they are gone.
