Give Cocktails A "Kinky" Twist!

The Chicago preview run of Kinky Boots, The Musical has high stepped into high gear. And who better to help launch this hilarious homage to diversity, acceptance, and success than the folks behind Kinky Liqueur! Premium vodka, quintuple distilled and infused with the flavors of mango, blood orange, and passion fruit, it is as playful on the tongue as it is in its pink packaging. It’s a taste that is both naughty and nice.

We recently had the chance to get a little Kinky ourselves, with a few pinker than pink cocktails featuring the liqueur. With its refreshing, fruity, smoothness, Kinky pretty much pairs nicely with anything. It lends just the right kick to sodas and juices and is sweet and scintillating plain on the rocks. Our favorite concoction was the cranberry-inspired Kinky-tini (recipe below) that added even more vodka to the mix. It is a pleasing 34 proof and at about $18 per bottle won’t break the bank (more money for mixers!).

Bottled by the Crosby Lake Spirits Company of St. Paul, Minnesota, Kinky is painting the country pink. When the Harvey Fierstein penned Kinky Boots heads to Broadway next month, there will be a touch and taste of pink on the red carpet. Pop star, actress and author, Cyndi Lauper, who composed the music for Kinky Boots, was recently on hand here in the Windy City to celebrate the partnership and give guests a taste of the show and its sponsor. The show and the liqueur are a match made in heaven. A few sips and then a few dance numbers later and we were ready to get Kinky all night!
