You don't have to venture out to the suburbs to get your spook on at a haunted house this Halloween. The Chicago Parks District and Walgreens are hosting several Halloween events this week and next, including some very impressive haunted houses.

13 Terrors at Theater on the Lake is by far the scariest of all the haunted houses. It takes place in an old sanitarium, just feet away from Lake Michigan. Expect evil clowns, a spinning vortex, a mirror maze, and a mausoleum of ghouls. Recommended for ages 8+, this haunted house only costs $10 and runs Oct. 19-21 & 26-28 at 2401 N. Lakeshore Dr. Free parking is available at Diversey Harbor north of Fullerton.

Fun for younger kids can be found at the Austin Town Hall Haunted House (5610 W. Lake St.) & Foster Park's haunted house (1440 W. 84th St.) Both only cost $3, are family-friendly and appropriate for children of all ages. Archer Park will also be hosting an all-ages haunted house for $5 at 4901 S. Kilbourn Ave. Anderson Playground Park, located at 3748 S. Prairie Ave., will be celebrating Halloween with a kid-friendly haunted house, recommended for ages 6+. Admission is $5.
