Canadian indie rockers Rah Rah take over the Doubler Door tonight. The band is celebrating its U.S. debut The Poet’s Dead on sale now on Hidden Pony Records.

The Saskatechewan group of multi-instrumentalists has been making waves in Canada for years, named “Best New Canadian Band” and “Best New Alternative Band” by iTunes Canada in 2009. Erin Passmore (drums, vocals, keys, guitar, bass) says while she loves the familiarity of touring Canada, the U.S. brings new challenges.

The band has been steadily touring for about four or five years, and Passmore cites the consequences of the band's incessant touring and "pursuing our art" as inspiration for their latest material. Passmore says The Poet’s Dead was the first time the band worked with a "real" producer and while it was intimidating, the results are unquestionable.

Watch the music video for "Prairie Girl," then get a taste of the live show in the performance of "Art and a Wife," both posted below.

The Hello Hello, Rah Rah, and The Envy Corps play Tuesday, Oct. 23 at 8:30 p.m. at the Double Door, 1572 N. Milwaukee, Purchase tickets now. $7.
