Neon Marshmallow 2012 Lineup Announced: Thurston Moore, Trevor de Brauw, Guardian Alien

2012_10_25_NeonMarshmallow.png Experimental music blowout Neon Marshmallow Fest has announced that it will return for its third year next month, Nov. 15-18, at the Burlington. This year’s installment will be curated solely by the man behind Acid Marshmallow, Matt Kimmel (Kimmel co-curated with Dan Smith of Neon Blossom Records the two years prior). This may account for the fest’s smaller size—this year feature’s 16 bands so far, compared to 2010’s 90-band lineup and 2011’s two dozen—as well as its later-than-usual arrival.

But this year’s lineup nonetheless packs a mighty punch, featuring Sonic Youth’s Thurston Moore, Pelican’s Trevor de Brauw, Greg Fox’s Guardian Alien, smooth-jamming Supreme Cuts, and holy shit the brilliant Julian Lynch, among others. And we hear through the grapevine that Thurston Moore will, along with playing a solo set, perform a duo set with John Moloney of Sunburned Hand of the Man. Check out the lineup below.

$60 festival passes are currently available, which allow you entry all four days, access to one hour of PBR open bar each night, and MP3s by performing acts.
