Wednesday's Great Shave event hosted by Merz Apothecary featured more well-groomed men with fantastic facial hair than the Chicagoist HQ on day 30 of Movember.

The Dank Haus had just enough vintage charm to transport fans of classic wet shaving techniques down an old-timey portal. With perfect background music from piano and drum duo, The Claudettes, master barbers had the right ambiance to provide straight razor shaves to a few lucky guests, while representatives from some of the world’s finest shaving brands discussed the finer points of shaving with customers.

The Qaiyum Brothers, Anthony and Jeffrey, also entertained the crowd with a live-shaving demonstration and discussed some of the finer points of high-end colognes for a video which will be available on their Youtube channel, SmallflowerTV.

Merz Apothecary has become a destination for shave geeks from all over the world, and the crowd gathered at Dank Haus is a testament that this old-style ritual is back in fashion.
