Conservative SuperPAC Pulls Back Funding For Rep. Joe Walsh Ads

Here's some news that was buried late in Friday's news cycle. The conservative SuperPAC Now or Never announced they were pulling a $2.5 million ad buy for Eighth Congressional District Rep. Joe Walsh intended to "bury" his opponent Tammy Duckworth in negative ads in the weeks leading up to the Nov. 6 election.
The timing is curious, if not coincidental. A Chicago Tribune/WGN-TV poll showed Duckworth with a 10-point lead over Walsh after comments Walsh made last week that advancements in science and medicine made abortion to save the health or life of a woman unnecessary.
Now or Never spokesman Tyler Harber told the Sun-Times the Tribune/WGN-TV doesn't jibe with information from Walsh's camp that shows him with a lead in the race and that the money previously earmarked for Walsh could be better spent on candidates who know the meaning of tact elsewhere.
“By all measures, we have been successful in IL-8. We have helped turn this race around and now believe Congressman Walsh is on a winning trajectory. If we were less confident, you would see us continue investing in IL-8. We’re not running from a fight.”
That remains to be seen.
