While City Council is holding hearings on Mayor Rahm Emanuel's 2013 budget, it's worth mentioning that the Emanuel administration—having learned its lesson from last year's town hall-style budget hearings—has scheduled only one public hearing on the budget, and that is at City Hall during a work day

The City Council Progressive Caucus organized a series of community budgeting meeting in an attempt to let the voices of Chicagoans be heard regarding what they feel should be the priorities of the city's budget, and will move to enter the comments from these hearings into the public record. The latest meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. tonight at South Shore International High School (1955 E. 75th St.) and will be moderated by WVON-AM's Cliff Kelley.

If you can't attend tonight's meeting, it will be streamed live here.
