It's been a while now since Rachael Yamagata called Chicago home but we think it's safe to say most of her local fans still claim her as this city's own. So we expect more than a few readers will be excited to know Yamagata's just released a free album of acoustic songs recorded in a loft space along with a few studio tunes including a sneak peek at material from her forthcoming EP. The stripped down treatment is a welcome return to the honest emotion that made us fall in love with the singer and a step away from the predictability that left us a little cold on her last album.
