2nd Story Will Have You Briefly Knocked Unconscious With Laughter

By Maggie Hellwig in Arts & Entertainment on Nov 9, 2012 5:40PM

The funny folks from 2nd Story have been making our sides hurt since 2002. The group of storytellers has grown in size, in experience, and as a community; it's an open alliance of writers, performers, teachers, directors, volunteers, and so many more individuals who believe that the tradition of storytelling deeply enriches society. It's little surprise to us that a collective of artists who have given so much to their viewers received a huge amount of support when they launched a kickstarter to publish an anthology. The result of their efforts is the book Briefly Knocked Unconscious by a Low-Flying Bird published by Elephant Rock Books, and it promises to be utterly hysterical.

The Book Cellar will be hosting 2nd Story's release party on November 17. Out of the 23 storytellers who contributed to the anthology, Julie Ganey, Kim Morris, and Matt Miller will be reading their work from Briefly Knocked Unconscious. Whether or not you're a veteran attendee to 2nd story's good-humored antics, we highly recommend that you come to enjoy some good old-fashioned storytelling.

Saturday, November 17, The Book Cellar: 4736 N. Lincoln Ave. #1, 7-10 p.m., FREE!
