Pencil This In: Tavernita Tippling Night

By Amy Cavanaugh in Food on Nov 11, 2012 5:00PM

2012_11_10_tavernita.jpeg Last month we were invited to Tavernita for Tippling Night, a boozy dinner in which the Tippling Brothers pair wines with the restaurant's Spanish cuisine. At our dinner, we had four dishes that paired very well with Spanish wines, such as a stew made with great white beans, sausage, and pork shoulder that was served with A Portela 2010 Mencia, a fruity, aromatic red.

The next dinner is November 13 at 6:30 p.m. and will feature a Thanksgiving-inspired dinner paired with Hennessy cocktails. We're fans of cognac, and love the idea of matching the spirit with Spanish dishes. The dinner is $55 per person and you'll need to make a reservation. Call 312-274-1111 to reserve.
