SmallBar Division Preps For Thanksgiving With Stout Blowout

Slowly but surely the weather is becoming more friendly for heavier beers like porters, barleywines and stouts. Especially stouts, whose combinations of sweet roasted malts and heavy gravity make a perfect remedy for evening chills across Chicago. Stouts are great in front of a fireplace, in a snifter or an imperial pint, as a complement for food or as a dessert unto themselves, and especially as an ingredient in Bloody marys.

SmallBar Division will be featuring 16 of the biggest and best stouts available locally for their stout blowout starting 6 p.m. Nov. 20. Phil McFarland and his crew have been saving some of the selections for months, particularly for this occasion. Check out this lineup:
