‘Twas the night before FoBAB and all through the town, not a creature was stirring... Well, that’s totally false. For those of you who aren’t hip to the beer nerd lingo, FoBAB stands for The Festival of Barrel Aged Beers, a sold-out event occurring this Saturday at the Bridgeport Arts Center. If you didn’t get tickets, there are several opportunities to taste beers from out-of-towners, but one event we’re particularly geeked for is a tasting of this year’s Abraxas Stout from Perennial.

Head to West Lakeview Liquors 6-9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16 to taste, and purchase, a bottle or two of this ancho chile, cacao, cinnamon, and vanilla spiced Imperial Stout from St. Louis. While this isn’t the barrel-aged version, it’s certainly worth trying. Brewers Cory King and Chuck Stockstrom will also be on hand to discuss this delicous brew.

This beer also cellars very well, and if you’ve got last year’s bottle, and want to invite us to your vertical Abraxas tasting, we’ll supply the snacks.

West Lakeview Liquors is located at 2156 W. Addison St.
