There are apps for everything now. And since there such great apps for steak grilling and Mexican cooking, there must be apps out there for thanksgiving, right? We rounded up a couple of our favorite apps to help make your thanksgiving easier, quicker and a bit more entertaining.

The most traditional of the Thanksgiving apps is the Butterball Cookbook Plus app. From your favorite manufacturer of giant-breasted turkeys with built-in thermometers comes this pretty cool app that includes printable recipes, timers and shopping lists. Our favorite part? It's voice controlled, so if you want to turn the page you don't have to get your greasy hands all over your iPhone or iPad. Plus, it pretty much replaces the Butterball Hotline. Our only beef? They try to sell you a ton of in-app recipes and content for even more cash. The app itself is $4.99.

Our favorite of the Thanksgiving apps out there is the Thanksgiving Menu Maker from Fine Cooking Magazine. It has 75 great recipes, but all the apps have recipes - and a simple mobile cookbook hardly utilizes the full computing potential of the iPad. What makes this App special is that its got great functions to make thanksgiving shopping and prep a lot easier. Pick your recipes from their list and it automatically populates a shopping list and a list of prep tasks, starting with the week before and moving all the way up to Thanksgiving. This is always one of the hardest tasks for us: planning all the things you have to do in advance. Plus, this App is free. You'll have to endure some pitches for Fine Cooking, but it's a small inconvenience.

If you want to entertain or annoy your friends, or catch a last-minute turkey of your own, download this free Turkey Call app for iPhone. You can learn all about the different calls made by male and female turkeys while reminding everyone that the giant bird in front of you on the table used to make really, really annoying noises.

Happy Thanksgiving!
