The night before Thanksgiving has long been one for those of us who aren't ready to face family all day to tie one on and get in a fighting mood. Maybe it would be more accurate to call today "Blackout Wednesday." This year we totally plan on seeing the sun rise as we exit Green Mill and head out on the road. Black Wednesday isn't for the faint of heart, but watch out for the amateurs.

Here are some events around town that can make your evening more enlightening. Get your disco naps now.

Maison Brasserie (333 E. Benton Pl.)

1/2 priced beer and wines on tap
1/2 priced mussels & fries

Bar Umbriago (6 W. Hubbard)

$40 Wristband includes all you can drink top shelf alcohol 9 p.m. - midnight! There's a live DJ, open bar bar open until 2 a.m., and the kitchen is open late

The Charleston (2076 N. Hoyne)

It's "Beats and Bacon" night at the popular Bucktown tavern. Flesh for Food serves up bacons. There will be gourmet jello shots (and maybe some blood) while DJs spin tunes. And the best part? No cover!

Maria's Packaged Goods and Community Bar (960 W. 31st St.)

Flesh for Food is serving macaroni and cheese with bacon and peas. $5 for vegetarian dishes; $8 for meat. 5 p.m. until it's gone.

Delilah's (2771 N. Lincoln Ave.)

Mike Miller spins tunes until the wee hours. Have we mentioned Delilah's has one of the best whiskey inventories in Chicago?

Timothy O'Toole's (622 N. Fairbanks)

The Streeterville watering hole has a turkey testicle eating contest at 9 p.m. and a pumpkin pie eating contest at 11 p.m. Winners will receive a $25 gift certificate. All-day specials include a “bucket of balls” (deep fried turkey testicles with your choice of dipping sauce), open faced hot turkey sandwich, turkey panini and slices of pumpkin pie.

Metro (3730 N. Clark St.)

Chicagoist faves JC Brooks & The Uptown Sound and Archie Powell & the Exports take the stage with I Kong Kult and DJ Ross Kelly. ($15)
