DO THIS: Rock For Kids Charity Jam

By Sarah Cobarrubias in Arts & Entertainment on Nov 23, 2012 5:00PM

2012_11_RockforKids.jpg Rock for Kids is a local non-profit that delivers music education to the underprivileged and at-risk youth of Chicago, which can be a pricey task that requires funding for instruments, gear, classes, and performances. So this Sunday, the Empty Bottle, in collaboration with the kids over at Windy City Rock, is hosting a fundraising show for the organization.

Sunday’s show features seven bands that span the spectrum of the local indie scene, from the garage punk of Rambos to the psychedelic pop of Panda Riot to the noise rock of We Repel Each Other. Check out the full lineup below. Oh, and the there’ll be a special guest: DJ Miss Alex White.

The organizers are asking for a $15 donation for an entrance fee, but you can get in for as little as $5. The proceeds, of course, go to Rock for Kids, and the big-hearted bands have offered to donate their cuts as well. If you can’t make it out but want to donate, head over to Rock for Kids’ donation page.

Rock for Kids Charity Jam is Sunday, November 25 at the Empty Bottle, 1035 N Western, 6 p.m., $5-$15 suggested donation, 21+
