WGN Morning News anchors Larry Potash and Robin Baumgarten had to wipe some egg from their faces this morning when a “plane crash” they were reporting in real time turned out to be a staged shoot for NBC’s drama, Chicago Fire.
Check it out.
Potash and Baumgarten tried to play it off, but you can tell from the video they weren’t happy. The whole thing could have been avoided if WGN didn’t feel the need to be first with the story and vetted this for a few seconds.
Instead, they wound up fulfilling a (humorous) prophecy.
