As November comes to a close, holiday shopping is in full swing. This weekend, get a chance to check out a curated collection of some of the best indie makers and artists at the Renegade Craft Fair Holiday Market. From 11 a.m. until 6 pm Saturday, Dec. 1 and Sunday, Dec. 2, you can find unique gifts along with local food and booze, workshops, a photo booth, and DJs.
The holiday market will take place at Pulaski Park Fieldhouse and will include tasty treats from Black Dog Gelato, Flying Saucer, Puffs of Doom, Jackalope Coffee, and MANA Food Bar, as well as Renegade's own special mulled wine. If you're in the Wicker Park area, catch a ride to the market on the free trolley.
DJs from Reckless Records, Dusty Groove, and CHIRP Radio will be spinning tunes all weekend and there will be a special jellyfish installation by Sayuri to brighten up the venue.
Expect a variety of different items for sale, including housewares, posters & prints, t-shirts, fashion items, plush items, ceramics, jewelry, accessories, stationery, and more. Want to do a little browsing before the weekend? Check out a full list of the artists participating here and a map of the venue here. Many vendors take credit cards, but it is a good idea to bring cash, as not all vendors are able to run cards. There will be an ATM truck parked near the fieldhouse as well.
After seeing so many unique handmade items, you may find yourself in the mood for a little DIY action of your own. There are lots of options for that too! Make a wreath out of reclaimed wood sourced from the ReBuilding Exchange's new warehouse space or use designer-illustrated print transfers to create a t-shirt at the workshop sponsored by Neuro Drinks and The Chicago Public Library. There's even a DIY gift wrap station with stamp kits provided by Yellow Owl Workshop.
The Renegade Craft Fair Holiday Market takes place at the Pulaski Park Fieldhouse, located at 1419 W. Blackhawk St. in West Town. Admission is free and the market runs from 11am-6pm Saturday and Sunday.
