A 45-year-old man from suburban Ingleside faces first-degree murder charges after a fight over a broken Marvel Comics collector glass escalated. Erik Jensen was drinking with his cousin, Raymond Ogara, when Ogara dropped his glass. Jensen, who was despondent over the recent death of his mother, and Ogara then got into an argument over the glass that escalated into a wrestling match and, allegedly, Jensen grabbing a pair of scissors and stabbing Ogara in the neck.

Police arrived at Ogara’s home at the 5400 block of North Natoma, were greeted by Jensen and found Ogara dead in a pool of blood. That must have been one hell of a glass, but more likely this was an incident exacerbated by alcohol; Cook County prosecutors said alcohol was “clearly” a factor.

Jensen, according to a police report, told authorities “me and my cousin were play-fighting. He got me in a headlock but I got the best of him.” He later said he didn’t remember what happened and called 911 when he saw Ogara on the floor.

Jensen is being held on $800,000 bond.
