Legendary Green Bay Packers quarterback and coach Bart Starr is in stable condition after collapsing onstage while giving a speech in Madison, Wisc. Tuesday. Starr collapsed near the end of a 45-minute speech he gave to the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority’s Multifamily Housing and Economic Development Conference at the Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center.

Agency spokesman Kevin Fischer said Starr sat up, said he was fine and was “speaking coherently,” and left the convention center with his wife, Cherry. Starr played quarterback for the Packers during the Vince Lombardi glory days, was MVP of Super Bowls I and II, and coached the Packers from 1975-1983.
