Vince Vaughn, Glenn Beck Want To Find America's Next Great Documentary Filmmaker

The turnover to a new Mayan calendar won’t result in the end of the world Dec. 21, but reading that Vince Vaughn and Glenn Beck are teaming up to search for America’s next great documentary filmmaker makes us wish it would.

A press release from Beck’s TheBlaze network Wednesday trumpeted the partnership with Wild West Productions, the production company founded by Vaughn and Peter Billingley (Ralphie from A Christmas Story) to produce a nine-episode reality television series called Pursuit Of The Truth that will bring together 20 filmmakers to be judged by an expert panel for a grand prize of having their documentary film financed and distributed.

Go Go Luckey Entertainment, a production company specializing in reality TV, is the third partner in this venture. Go Go Luckey Entertainment co-founder Gary Auerbach said, “This project has special meaning for Go Go Luckey because it embodies such a worthy cause -- enabling filmmakers to pursue the truth.”

Applications are now being accepted and if you’re a filmmaker who has a documentary that even the likes of Alex Jones thinks is cray-cray, Beck and Vaughn are waiting to hear from you.
