As batch sizes and availability increase, the release of Goose Island Bourbon Barrel Stout loses a bit of its cache each year. However, the various incarnations and love children of this dark and deep brew remain harder to find and enjoy. Lucky for you, one can head to Paddy Long's Dec. 7 and drink a mind-boggling array of Goose Island’s special seasonal stouts. What’s even more exciting, is that most of these deliciously dark beers are available on draft.

Beginning at 7 p.m. and ending when the kegs run out, Paddy Long’s Goose Island Bourbon County Stout takeover will include the following beers:

On draft:

Bourbon County Brand Stout 2012
Bourbon County Brand Stout 2011
Bourbon County Brand Vanilla Stout 2011
Bourbon County Brand Coffee Stout 2012
Bourbon County Brand Cherry Rye Stout
Goose Island Night Stalker
Goose Island Fulton and Wood Black Mission
Goose Island Fulton and Wood Gran Gas

In bottles:

Bourbon County Brand Cherry Rye Stout 2012
Bourbon County Brand Coffee Stout 2012
Bourbon County Brand Stout 2009
Bourbon County Brand Stout 2010
Goose Island Sofie
Goose Island Matilda

Our advice is to get there early as there’s no guarantees that any of these kegs or bottles will last more than an hour. If it were up to us, we would get a few friends together and do a vertical tasting of the Bourbon County Stouts starting with 2009, or to purchase a few different flavors and try to mix your own blend. No matter what you do, no barrel-aged stout fan will leave disappointed.

Paddy Long’s is located at 1028 W. Diversey Parkway.
